The best surprise ever!!

Last night I opened my mailbox and noticed a little key was lying inside! The key indicates “someone sent me a package that won’t fit in my little box!” So I took the key and opened the bigger box and saw this:

Gasp! Someone sent me a pair of TOMS!!! I yanked the shoes out of the mailbox and guess who sent them?!?!

Autumn and Jake Hembree!

“Oh no!” I thought! I didn’t send them a present! What to do! I ran up stairs and opened the box, This is what was inside:

Adorable. So true. So me.
These aren't just any pair of TOMS!
These are almost identical to the pair I've been trying to steal from Autumn for the past few years!

At the bottom of the box I found a note that read:

Brittney,

This is not a Xmas gift! This is a “you’re an awesome friend and aunt” gift (smiley face) Therefore it requires nothing but a thank you in return! (Another smiley face)

-(heart) Autumn

Sigh. She knows me too well. She knew I was panicking and she knew I would try to outdo her by sending her something equally amazing in return.

I don’t know what I did to deserve such a good friend.

Looks perfect on my nightstand!

Um. Yes.

Autumn, you little stinker! I love my shoes and sign! It is perfect! Thank you so much! It totally made my day! I miss you! In fact! I am coming to see you! Tell me when you’re off next and I will be there! Give Ava a kiss for me!!  xoxo Brittney

High Five For Friday: 2011

Today my top five are all milestones from 2011.

It has been such a great year for me so I thought it might be fun to look back!

Here we go:

1. Ava Hope Hembree

My precious little niece. Born on September 7, 2011. Such an exciting day! Click here to read all about it!

2. Graduating college!

3. Getting a Job! In my field (PR)!

This picture was taken on a buisness trip to D.C.

4. My new friends

I am so thankful for the friends I have made in my new hometown (okay so it’s not so new anymore!) They have made me feel welcome and have made my transition here so much easier. Thank you ladies!

5. Losing 40 pounds

It was this time last year that I made the decision to get healthy. I wanted to show you guys a before picture. I am a little uneasy about sharing these with you (there not even on Facebook y’all!).

These pictures were taken a year ago on Christmas Eve when we went on a helicopter Christmas light tour. I know it’s hard to tell what I looked like (and that’s because I made sure of it! See! I’m wearing all black?!), but it took seeing these photos for me to realize I had to do something.

Here is what I look like today (sorry about the poor quality of the photos):

I am so glad I stuck to my resolution last year!

Did you have any milestones in 2011?

Farewell to the "most wonderful time of the year"

Well Christmas is officially over.

I always hate the week after Christmas.

It takes me that long to morn. I morn for my beautiful tree that goes back to storage. I morn for the Christmas music that I would still be listening to if it were socially acceptable. I morn for my family that I won’t see again until the next year. I morn for the sinful food (ah hem *rolls*) that my mother makes once a year.

And I worry…

I worry about my New Years plans (because inevitably I am always single and all my friends have dates). I worry about the weight I gained since Thanksgiving. I worry about where to put all my new shiny things in my teeny tiny apartment.

And I dread...I dread January and February because they are the coldest and dreariest months of the year.

Does anyone else experience this?

I wish I lived in Whoville! (It's Christmas everyday there!)

But Christmas was so so so good to me this year!

The Orr family Christmas was so much fun.

We ate and ate and ate! Oh boy! Did we eat! I didn't know it was possible to consume that much (or cook that much)!

We had: queso, chili, grilled bacon wrapped chicken-jalapeno-cream cheese bites, shrimp, ham, sausage balls, guacamole, cheese logs, rolls, spinach dip, clam dip, spicy chex mix, peanut butter bites, rum cake, strawberry cake, chocolate covered Oreo balls, white chocolate covered popcorn (yes homemade), roasted pecans (again, homemade), sugar cookies…I’m sure I left some things out but you get the picture.

I’m totally skipping Weight Watchers tonight.

I took some pictures with my phone:

We all got Vera Bradley!

Mikayla showing off her camera

Mimi and Pappy!

It's Santa! (aka Dad)

Caden is such a ham!

Playing spades!

Brandon hates to lose! hehe! see him pout?

Road Trip

Today sister and I will be traveling down to Dallas TX.!

We have ONE MORE Christmas to celebrate! Yay!

The Orr Family Christmas.

Last year we celebrated on the slopes!

See how cold we are? See the blizzard behind us?

This year my Aunt and Uncle are hosting Christmas. This will include dirty Santa, lots of food and lots of spades!

We are serious spade players… and we are very competitive! I’m not joking. People get mad. (By “people” I mean “me”…I didn’t speak to my brother for an ENTIRE evening after he beat me.)

Pictures, stories and more pictures will be coming soon!

Merry Christmas! (I am so happy I can STILL say that! Christmas isn’t over yet!)

Holly Jolly Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

The past 48 hours have been so fabulous!

Last night we went over to my Dad and Stepmoms house. We had a great time! …and I got an iPad! Yay!!! I’m on cloud nine ya’ll!!

Today we spent the day with my Mom and stepdad.

Our entire family came over to celebrate Christmas.

My sister got a “fancy schmancy” camera! She followed us around capturing the day.

Here is a glimpse of the Beasley/Orr/Cordell/McCown/Fore /Beavers family Christmas:

I had to add a picture of Mikayla (because she wouldn’t get out from behind the camera!) this is the best I could do:

It is my ALL TIME FAVORITE picture of her. I think she is in Kindergarten! She is such a mess!

I hope you all had a merry Christmas!

bytheway…Did I mention I got my dream desk and file cabinet from this post?!

My home office makeover is coming soon!! (can you hear the angels singing?) I’m beyond excited.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

High Five For Friday

Remember last Friday when I did the “High Five For Friday” link party?

If not, check it out here!

I am so excited it's Friday!

This week has been so LONG! I cant believe it is Christmas Eve tomorrow! YAY!

Here is my top five this week:

1.These (adorable) DIY Christmas picture frames I made for two of my coworkers. It’s amazing the things you can do with scrapbook paper and mod podge.

2.Santa’s real helpers! I love these cute “Reinbeers” I made for my stepdad! Thank you Pinterest.

3.The Life Church Christmas. We go every year and every year we are amazed by the service. If you live near a Life Church you need to check it out! Like tonight. Go here to find a show near you!

4.Okay so my Birchbox this month was amazing! This pore cream is to die! When I say my face is silky smooth I’m not playing around! It’s like touching a baby! And it smells delish!

5.This little "cup of heaven" was a gift from my friend Brooke. It is a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Yum! All you do is add milk! How easy is that?? I wish I knew where she got it.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas Eve, Eve!

Bah Humbug!

Sorry I have been MIA this week.

Remember when I told you about my terrible Monday morning?

Well...my week didn’t get much better.

I was extremely busy and didn’t have time to write. (Which is a blessing to all of you because you would have gotten an ear full!)

To top it all off, I have been eating myself sick and it’s not even Christmas!

Oh well, I am looking forward to being with my family this weekend.

There’s nothing more comforting than being surrounded by the people you love.

(Well except maybe watching "Beauty and the Beast" and singing all of the songs at the top of your lungs ...It sure has helped me! And I think my mean neighbor has enjoyed it too, hehe!)

FAIL

Oh this morning was a disaster.

Back in July, my Dad got me the complete series of Charmed for my birthday. Over the past few months I’ve only watch a handful of episodes. But for some reason this weekend I couldn’t turn it off!

So last night I did my usual routine: Eat-shower-T.V. but instead of watching one episode of whatever’s on “Nick at Night,” I decided to watch Charmed.

Oh boy! I couldn’t turn it off! I kept telling myself that I would just watch the first ten minutes of the next episode but would end up watching the entire show! It was an endless cycle.

The next thing I knew, this bright light was peering through my window. I was extremely confused. Where am I? What is that noise?

I will give you one guess to what happened…

It was bright because it was MORNING! I was still on my couch. The noise was my neighbor’s diesel truck. I reached for my phone...It's 7:52!

I FLEW off the couch!

My heart’s racing! I have to be at work in 8 minutes, my hair is STILL sopping wet because it’s so high maintenance won’t dry by itself! AHHHH!

Seriously Brittney!

Of all days!

See today I have a super secret (but very important) “thing” that I have to do that requires my best appearance.

I couldn’t just pile my hair on top of my head and slap on some mascara. I had to look my best. This includes: blow drying and straightening my hair (which is a 40 min process alone), applying all my makeup and picking out my outfit. Being a girl sucks!

In fear that my mother might die of a heart attack reading this, I won’t tell you how late I was.

I just hope my “thing” goes better than my morning!

Happy Monday!

High Five For Friday!!

One of my favorite bloggers hosts a fun link party over at From My Grey Desk. I thought I would join in and submit my top five things/moments from this week.

What in the heck is a “link party?!”: Basically, From My Grey Deskchooses a theme and other bloggers write about it and post their link to her blog! The purpose of a link party is to bring bloggers together and gain exposure for your blog.

Here we go:

1.The United States Postal Service! I ordered a pair of Sunglasses on Monday and they came in today!! Also, I ordered a gift online yesterday and it has already shipped! Whew! It will be here by Christmas!

2.Another thing I love about my charming town: I have/will attend not one, not two, BUT THREE Christmas parties this week!

3.Our family Christmas Card.

Back:

Enough said.

4.This "Not Yours" trinket I found at Francesca’s (probably the cutest store ever). I’ve never been good at sharing. Anything. Not even food. It’s still a problem to this day.

5. My nails. Remember my red nails? Well they lasted me about 12 days. I got one itty bitty chip and took them all off! I decided to go with the classic french this time! I'm kinda proud of my little stubs! They don't look too bad!

High five! It's Friday! Check out From My Grey Desk!

And have a good weekend!

December Birchbox

My December Birchbox is here! (Finally!)

This month’s box is my favorite!

1. Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss: I’m not sure about the color… I think it would be better for spring. It’s supposed to medicate dry lips. The shade looks darker in the bottle; it goes on sheer and shiny.

2. Kate Spade New York Twirl perfume: I am sooo excited about this! It has a fresh and clean smell and it’s not overpowering.

3. Showstoppers® Designer Fashion Tape in Nude/Black: This double-sided tape is supposed to be the latest and greatest thing in the fashion world (but I’m not an expert, I read it on their card). I’m actually excited about this because I’m going to a Christmas party Saturday! I think I will try it out on my strapless dress.

4. Benefit The POREfessional: Okay I need a new skincare treatment! My face is SERIOUSLY out of control! I am trying this tomorrow! It is a primer that shrinks your pores. This is what the card said after the description: “Perfect t-zone, here we come” please please be true!

5. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse® OR Multi-Usage Dry Oil Shimmer: Supposedly this product is “Coco Chanel fabulous.” I tried some on my arms and I really liked it! It made my skin have a soft glow with a silky feel. I can’t wait to use it for the party Saturday!

EBOOST Orange Natural Energy Booster: This last one is a little questionable. You add the packet of powder to bottle water. All I can think about is Airborne, you know, those yucky tablets you add to water to prevent a cold? Yuck!

I am really happy with this month’s box! I can’t wait to try out the perfume, tape, and shimmer Saturday!

If you’re interested in getting a BirchBox for yourself click here.

On another note: Tomorrow is Friday! YAY!

My apartment Christmas tour!

I am officially decorated for Christmas!

(Okay so really I’ve been done with my decorating for a couple of weeks now. I just thought you might want to see!)

My table:

Remember how bad it looked at Halloween?

I got this throw pillow at Target!

This cute snowman ornament was a dirty Santa gift I got at a sorority party a few years ago. It didn't match the other ornaments on my tree, so decided to display it on my coffee table.

My alpine tree is from Hobby Lobby. I think it’s perfect for an apartment. I love that it's tall and skinny so it doesn't take up any room!

I love the way these DIY leopard ornaments look on my tree! See how I made them here.

I dream that one day my "wittle" tree will be used in a bedroom and my living room will have a giant tree like you see in the department stores.

But for now, I’m proud of my small space!

I hope you enjoyed the tour!
